Installation Prerequisites

Skills needed to install and use this Powerful CMS

There are many ways to install Drupal. Once installed, there are many modules that are necessary to exploit the best features that make it a powerful content management system. To make things simple, I have grouped all the modules into one package and simplified the installation process. However, you will need the skills to use an FTP program to move files from your desktop to server. Basic knowledge of HTML is great but not required.

FTP clients are tools that allow you to move files between a remote computer and your desktop. To connect to your web hosting service via FTP you will need to know the FTP address username, and password. In the resource section I am using an FTP client (Smart FTP) to move files between my desktop and the server. In the resource section you can find a few FTP client options. All of them provide a free trial.

You will be able to follow along with this video and create your own content management system. This is done by accessing your Control Panel, using an FTP client and transferring a file toyour domain. This CMS also has features like blogs, surveys, images, shopping cart and much more.
