How to Add Email Subscription To Your Drupal Blog
This a $700 dollar video! I got an email from a reader of SeoEcom that she had a quote of $700 to add an email subscription to her drupal blog site. If you can follow along to this video, you can learn how to
- Use Drupal Views to create an RSS View for all your blogs (or any content you want to RSS on your site)
- Burn the feed at Feedburner and use all the advanced tracking and email subscription features of a Feedburner feed
- Enable email subscriptions to your blog for your Drupal site
Please follow along to the videos on how to do this. First off you need to download Drupal Views (required) and Feedburner redirector (optional). Unzip the files and use your FTP application to install these modules on your Drupal site. Once these modules are installed you will need to enable them and then you can start to define your view.
Once your view is defined, based on the view type (RSS), elements of your feed (use filter) and sort criteria you can start to test your feed. You will need to create an account with Feedburner to burn your feed. Once activated you can use the email subscription to your feed service provided by feedburner. Make sure you install the form code provided by feedburner as a block on your drupal site to activate your email subscription.
Feedburner redirector allows you to rederict URLs on your site to the feedburner URLs to better manage your RSS feeds. I highly recommend redirecting your internal feeds to ensure you have full accounting for your feedstats provided at Feedburner. Watch the three videos to add email subscription to your Drupal site. Have another $700 problem in Drupal - post it at the forum and when time permits I will create videos based answers or answer your questions on promoting your site here. I have listed the past links you have find useful under resources.
